The Parish Choir is comprised of singers from high school age through adults. This is the group that is responsible for the bulk of choral singing during worship. They sing for the 10 a.m. Sunday Choral Eucharist from September through Pentecost as well as additional services such as Lessons and Carols, Holy Week services and Easter Vigil. Rehearsals are on Sundays from 1130 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
St. Mary’s Gospel Choir is comprised of individuals, from St. Mary’s and the surrounding community, who come together for 6 weeks, four times each year, in preparation for a rousing and spirit-filled Sunday service of Gospel repertoire. They sing a wide range of selections from traditional spirituals such as “I’ve got peace like a river” to the more contemporary as in “Joyful, Joyful” from the movie Sister Act, and even “Baba Yetu”, an adaptation of the Lord’s Prayer in Swahili.
